Annual Dues. Annual Pinehaven dues are $150, and a reminder is sent via email each January. Our fiscal year closes out on July 1st. If you have not paid your dues for 2025 yet, please do so soon. Bi-Annual Forest Debris Pick-up Q&A. Pinehaven hosts a twice-a-year forest litter pick-up to help every homeowner reduce wildfire risk by removing highly flammable debris such as pine needles, twigs, and small branches from their property. This service is free to residents, with the HOA arranging haul-off so you don’t have to make landfill trips. The information below is presented in a simple Q&A format to answer the most common questions about how the program works and how you can participate.
Cabin History. Every cabin has a story—let us help tell yours. Our micro-history service turns your memories into a written keepsake that ties your family’s cabin story to Pinehaven’s rich past. It’s easy and it’s easy: just complete a short online survey, and we’ll do the rest. The result is both a treasured family record and a lasting gift to our community’s history. Contractors and Local Services. A handy directory of trusted local providers for handyman, tree removal, fire mitigation, snow plowing, excavation and road work, septic, electrical, roofing, plumbing, and other essential cabin services in the La Veta/Cuchara area. This list comes directly from the City of La Veta and features only those providers who have completed the city’s certification process. To earn a spot, each applicant must go through a formal review that includes an application, reference checks, and proof of licensing and insurance when required. In short, you can trust that everyone on this list has been vetted for quality and reliability.
Electrician. Need electrical work? Call La Veta resident and electrician Keith Revera at Jar Electric. Keith is a licensed contractor who we have found to have a quick response time and do quality work. Firewise Certificate Renewal. Each year, our HOA must submit a Firewise renewal report that highlights the time and money our cabin owners invest in making Pinehaven safer from wildfire. This includes any work you’ve done to clear combustible materials or add fire-resistant landscaping around your property. To keep our certification active, please email your contributions to Steve Johnson no later than October 1 each year. Also, don’t forget to let your homeowner’s insurance agent know that Pinehaven is a Firewise Certified Community—this recognition may qualify you for lower insurance rates. Onboarding Your Cabin. Once you’ve closed on your Pinehaven property, make sure every utility is in your name, scheduled, and functioning. To make your transition seamless, we’ve pulled together a ready-to-use list of utility providers complete with contact information—so you can skip the searching and get settled faster.
Pinehaven Constitution & Bylaws (PDF). The Pinehaven Property Owners Association Constitution and Bylaws establish the purpose, structure, and governance of the HOA. They define membership eligibility, voting rights, officer and board responsibilities, dues, elections, and committees, all aimed at maintaining and enhancing Pinehaven as a quality residential community. The document also outlines fiscal procedures, meeting rules, amendment processes, and adherence to protective covenants and Robert’s Rules of Order.
